Best Foods at Disneyland:
Café Orleans –
In the heart of New Orleans square, you’ll be able to find a hidden gem called Café Orleans. Here, you can try a variety of Cajun-Creole dishes that resemble a home cooked meal straight from Louisiana. Try the delicious Pommes Frites, N’awlins Gumbo, Bourbon Street Chicken and even the famous Monte Cristo Sandwich. Plus, they have quality kids meals too. Children can choose from Shrimp and Grits, Macaroni and Cheese or one of the Chef’s Specialty Beef, Chicken or Fish kids’ meal. To top it all off, end your meal with a delicious Mickey-shaped Beignets. I promise you won’t regret it! The beignets alone are some of the best foods at Disneyland.
Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante –
In Frontierland, you can find one of the most delicious Mexican restaurants at the Disneyland Resort. Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante offers a variety of classic Mexican dishes like Enchiladas, Tacos and Burritos served with specialty rice and beans. Not only do they offer delectable kids’ meals here, but you can also take advantage of their toddler meals for the little ones too. But, Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante is more than just your typical restaurant. Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante is actually the place where Doritos were invented! In the early 60’s, the restaurant was named Casa de Fritos and was owned by the Frito Lay company. Instead of throwing out the scraps of tortillas that weren’t used, the chefs wanted to re-purpose them into a flavorful chip. These chips gained a lot of popularity and thus, the rest is history. So if you eat here while at Disneyland, you’ve been to the restaurant where Doritos were invented!
Stage Door Café –
Whether I’m at Disneyland or at home, there is one thing I ALWAYS crave; a Disneyland corn dog. While they are equally delicious no matter where you buy them at the park, there is one location that I always go to. The Stage Door Café is located next to the Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland and serves a variety of American fare. Here you can get Chicken Tenders, Chicken Fried Steak, a Grilled Chicken Spinach Wrap and of course, a Hand-dipped Corn Dog. Not only is this location less expensive than the others, but you can choose to get fries as a side instead of apples or chips. To top it all off, you can indulge in a Berry Funnel Cake that will be sure to beat out any other that you’ve had before.
Jolly Holiday Bakery Café –
At the end of Main Street U.S.A., you’ll be able to find the Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. If you’re looking for lighter fare, then this is the spot for you. The Jolly Holiday Bakery specializes in sandwiches, soups and salads. You can try an Artisan BLT on Ciabatta, the Grilled Chicken and Sun-dried Tomato Caesar Salad or chow down on the Jolly Holiday Combo with includes a Toasted Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Basil Soup. While you’re here, make sure to try the Raspberry Rose Macaron. This delicious treat is a Mickey-shaped macaron filled with raspberry filling and dozens of real raspberries. Don’t be fooled thinking that this treat is big enough to share. It is so good that you’ll want the entire thing for yourself. And you may even be tempted to get another!
Minnie & Friends Breakfast at the Plaza Inn –
If you’re looking to have an extra special experience with your kids while at Disneyland, make sure to do the Minnie and Friends Character Breakfast at the Plaza Inn. Here, you’re able to dine with your favorite characters while eating a delicious buffet meal. While it may not be among the best foods at Disneyland, it is 100% worth the experience. And it’s the only character dining inside a park. The characters come to your table directly, so you don’t have to worry about waiting in line to meet characters while you’re in Disneyland. Plus if you make a reservation at Minnie and Friends early enough, you can get into the park before it even opens! Character dining is a unique dining experience that you and your little ones will cherish forever, so we highly recommend doing this for at least one meal.
Blue Bayou Restaurant –
If you’ve ever ridden Pirates of the Caribbean, you might have noticed a restaurant located inside of the attraction. This restaurant is called the Blue Bayou and is sure to be the most unique dining experience you’ve ever had at the Disneyland Resort. Here, you can dine on a delicious meal while watching guests on the attraction go by. They offer a variety of dishes like Jambalaya, Bone-In Rib Eye and Crème Brulee for dessert. If you’re looking to eat some of the best foods at the Disneyland Resort, make sure to consider the Blue Bayou Restaurant.
A good way to do the Blue Bayou is to make a reservation for one of their dining packages. It includes a three course meal and premium viewing for the nighttime show. Right now you can purchase Fantasmic! dining packages, which are awesome.
I wasn’t able to get a picture the last time we ate here because we were juggling three small kids. But, my cute co-worker shared this picture from her visit so you can get an idea of the ambiance. My kids were amazed that we were eating inside, but it looked like outside AND we were eating during the day, but it looked like night. Their minds were blown!
Of course, no trip to Disneyland is complete without a delectable Dole Whip. At the Tiki Juice Bar in Adventureland, you can choose between the original Pineapple DOLE WHIP Soft-serve or mix it up by getting a DOLE WHIP Float. However if you’re looking for a more refreshing treat, you can always opt to get the delicious Pineapple Juice instead. No matter what you choose to get, you can’t go wrong at the Tiki Juice Bar!

Smokejumpers Grill –
Located next to Soarin’ over the World, you can find the Smokejumpers Grill at Grizzly Peak in Disney California Adventure. Within this vintage air hangar, you can get delicious foods like a Bacon Cheeseburger, Spicy Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and Campfire Chili. The best part? The Smokejumpers Grill offers incredible waffle fries that you can get topped with chili cheese. But, be warned. You’ll crave these even when you aren’t at the resort!

Designed after a classic American diner, you can find dishes like Turkey Dip, BBQ Pork Ribs, Spit-fire Rotisserie Quarter Chicken and more. Plus, this is the perfect spot to eat with the little ones because they’ll be able to see the Radiator Springs Racers cars zoom right by while eating their delicious kids’ meal.
Lucky Fortune Cookery –
Lucky Fortune Cookery is another hidden-gem located at the Pacific Wharf in Disney California Adventure. Here, you’ll be able to enjoy an Asian-inspired meal by creating your own rice bowl. For your rice bowl, you can choose from Chicken, Beef or even Tofu. Or if you’d rather, you can choose to have a Chilled Noodle Salad with hints of Mint, Thai Basil, Shredded Daikon and Tofu. Plus, you can get a side of Edamame to complete your delicious meal. Kids who eat here will also be able to eat their own Chicken and Brown Rice bowl too. The Lucky Fortune Cookery will bring both luck and delight to any Disney day!
Pacific Wharf Café –
Also located at the Pacific Wharf, you’ll be able to find the Pacific Wharf Café. Here, you can immerse yourself in the heart of San Francisco and try delectable California fare. Indulge in dishes like a Turkey Pesto Club, Chinese Chicken Salad and even get Clam Chowder in an authentic Sourdough Bread Bowl. Plus, kids can munch on their delicious Macaroni & Cheese kids meal offered here too. Because of this, we think that the Pacific Wharf Cafe has some of the best foods at Disneyland.
Carthay Circle –
If you’re looking to treat yourself to a deluxe dining experience at Disney California Adventure, then you should consider making reservations at California Adventure’s finest restaurant, Carthay Circle. You’ll be able to order entrées like Skuna Bay Salmon, Grilled Hanger Steak, Golden Tomato Duck Bolognese and more. Plus, indulge in a side of their famous Carthay Signature Fried Biscuits while you’re there. If you’re worried that this restaurant might not have much for kids, don’t worry. Their children’s menu is filled with kid-friendly, quality meals that will make them feel like they’re dining in elegance too.
You can also purchasing three course dining packages that include premium viewing for the nighttime entertainment in Disney California Adventure Park here. During Pixar Fest, you can get a dining package for the Paint the Night Parade. Other times you can get a dining package for World of Color.
Wine Country Trattoria –
Across the way from Radiator Springs is another one of California Adventure’s most deluxe restaurants, Wine Country Trattoria. You’ll be able to find authentic Italian cuisine like Spaghetti Bolognese, Fettuccine Shrimp Alfredo and Lasagna Rustica while dining here. Plus, kids can create their own pasta with the Kid’s Mickey Check Meals or choose from kid-favorites like pizza or chicken. The best part? This restaurant has beautiful views of Paradise Pier and might be worth the cost of dining here alone. And, bonus, they also have dining packages.
Adorable Snowman Treats –
While you’re there, be sure to check out Disney California Adventure’s newest Quick-Service stop, Adorable Snowman Treats. This new ice-cream shop has replaced the beloved Paradise Pier Ice Cream Company, but with a fun new twist. Themed after the Yeti that makes an appearance in Monsters Inc, you can snack on delectable frozen treats. Try the Pixar Pier Parfait, It’s Snow-Capped Lemon! Soft-serve Ice Cream, a Barq’s Root Beer Float and more. Next time you visit Disneyland, be sure to try one of these sweet treats!
