Hi everyone, it’s Kimberly with Get Away Today, here to talk to you about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This 14-acre expansion to Disneyland opens May 31, 2019. In Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests will be able to experience A Galaxy Far, Far Away like never before. Whether you’re an expert on all things Star Wars or are a Padawan in training, today I’ll be giving you a guide on everything you need to know about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Disneyland.
Everything You Need to Know About Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Battu & Black Spire Outpost
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is going to allow guests to experience a brand-new planet called Battu. Here, smugglers, bounty hunters and intergalactic adventurers alike, have made a home in a village called Black Spire Outpost. At this trader’s outpost, guests will be able to explore new shops and dining locations. At dining locations like Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo and Ronto Roasters, guests will be able to try unusual dishes that bring exotic flavors to life.
Plus, guests will also be able to explore shops like Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, First Order Cargo, Resistance Supply and even create their own own-of-a-kind lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop. You will even be able to make your own droid that will be able to interact with aspects of Galaxy’s Edge, and that can go home with you after your trip. The souvenirs you purchase in Galaxy’s Edge will be more than just things; they will be part of the experience! Everything you see, eat and purchase within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be unique to this desolate planet, so this truly will be an escape from reality. Pretty neat, right?
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
At Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, you and five guests will be able to board the most infamous ship in the galaxy! Here, you’ll be able to choose between roles like pilot, engineer and gunner as you try to accomplish your intergalactic mission. However, it’s important to note that this attraction is directly linked to other experiences in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Whether you complete your mission or damage the ship, you might be the main topic of gossip or praise in Battu. This attraction will be available to experience when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in Disneyland on May 31, 2019.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is going to be the most immersive and technologically advanced attraction that Disney has ever built. While not a lot of information has been released about this attraction, we do know that you’ll be able to join the Resistance in a secret mission against the First Order when this attraction opens later in 2019. Additionally, this attraction is rumored to have hundreds (or thousands) of animatronics that resemble well-known Star Wars characters, including Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers. Because of all of the rumors surrounding this attraction, we believe that it’s going to truly be an out of this world experience.
What would a land dedicated to Star Wars be without a Cantina? At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests will finally be able to enjoy a cantina experience. At Oga’s Cantina, guests can grab a drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), meet new aliens, smugglers and even enjoy catchy tunes that R-3X the Cantina DJ will be playing. The unique atmosphere and quirky drink offerings for both children and adults makes us incredibly excited to see what this fun location has to offer!
Play Disney Parks App
Another element of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that will truly make you feel like you’re on another planet, will be the Play Disney Parks App. Download this app and you’ll find yourself translating intergalactic messages in Galaxy’s Edge. You’ll also be able to hack into droids, locate precious cargo throughout the land and maybe even communicate with others across the galaxy. The Play Disney Parks App is meant to give you a personalized experience every time you visit Galaxy’s Edge, so be sure to download it for free before you go.
