DIY Handwritten Pillowcase

Hey! It’s Kari from Life PreKARIous. Let’s talk Valentine’s Day… My birthday is in December, my husband’s is in January, and our anniversary is in March, so with all the holidays so close together we have decided not to spend a ton of money on each other for Valentine’s Day. I love it. The gifts we get and give tend to be more sentimental (read: cheesy) and heart felt. Give me ALL the mushy stuff! My gifts to him are usually hand made, and this year is no differnt. I made him a fun DIY handwritten pillowcase.

It is so easy to make and customize! All you need is some fabric markers, a pillowcase, a piece of cardboard, and a ruler. It’s the perfect gift for any occasion, not just Valentine’s Day

When it comes to what to write on your pillowcase, the options are endless! I thought it would be fun to make it something that was special to my husband and I. I’m telling ya, mushy is best!

We were married in Las Vegas by the king himself, Elvis. Swoon. So, I decided to use lyrics to a fun, Elvis love song.

You’ll want to put a piece of cardboard in between the pillowcase. It makes it easier to write on and also prevents the ink from bleeding through to the other side. I used a ruler to make sure I was writing in a straight line.

I repeated the lyrics 3 times in order to cover the whole thing. And how adorable is this handmade pop up Valentine card I found [HERE]? It’s perfect!

Now, let the love fest begin! 😉

  1. This is too cute. And relatively inexpensive and simple! You could do it for any occasion though. Lullaby lyrics for a baby’s room and a pastel heart. Christmas songs… Pretty much anything.
