Step 1: Download the Free Hedgehog Printable Template
Start by downloading the free printable hedgehog template. Print it out and carefully cut out the pieces. This will be your pattern for all the hedgehog’s adorable features!

Step 2: Prepare the Valentine Box
Take your basic Valentine box (any box will do!) and trace the edges to create two sides and a strip to cover the front and back. Use blue colored cardstock to wrap the box, and secure it in place with Glue Dots®.

Step 3: Cut Out the Hedgehog Pieces
Using your free template, trace the hedgehog’s body, ears, and other parts onto colorful foam sheets. We love using shades of pink, blue, white, and black for a fun, vibrant look! Cut out each foam shape carefully—these will be your hedgehog’s adorable spikes and features.

Step 4: Assemble the Hedgehog
Start by layering the foam pieces onto your covered Valentine box using Glue Dots®. First, attach the hedgehog’s body and then its spikes, layering them one by one. Add the triangular blue spikes around the body for extra dimension. Stick on the foam nose, paws, and ears.

Step 5: Add the Finishing Touches
For that extra adorable touch, add two googly eyes and a cute foam heart nose. Use the Glue Dots® to attach little blue foam paws to the bottom, and place a pom pom on the top of the box for the cutest look!

Step 6: Get Ready to Celebrate!
Once your Hedgehog Valentine’s Day Box is complete, it’s time to show it off at the Valentine exchange! The kids will love collecting all their Valentine cards, candy, and little cookies inside. For even more fun, consider giving out cute hedgehog stress toys or fuzzy stuffed hedgehogs to classmates as a sweet little bonus.
