Kid Friendly Diy: Make A Thankful Fall Leaf Garland

Get creative with your kids this fall and make a DIY thankful fall leaf garland! This fun and easy project will not only keep your children entertained, but also teach them the importance of gratitude.

One of my favorite things to do during the fall is make crafts with my kids. I wanted to add some fall colors to our home decor by using fall leaves for our inspiration. This became the perfect DIY project for me to do with my kids. You get to spend time together working on gratitude, and you end up with some fall decor.

What you’ll need to make your own Thankful Fall Leaf Garland:

Follow this simple tutorial to make your own DIY Fall Leaf Garland.

Step 1:

Begin by downloading the Free Fall Leaf Printable here onto some colorful Autumn Cardstock. Then cut them out. I printed and cut enough leaves for each member of my family to write on each day November 1st until Thanksgiving.

Step 2:

Take a 3 Burlap Leave Shapes and stack them together. Place a small dab of hot glue under the top leaf to secure them together. Then add a dab of hot glue to the acorn and press onto the leaf stack.

Step 3:

Use hot glue to secure your leaves and acorn to some jute cording. Leave a space of 6-8 inches before hot gluing the next leaf stack. Repeat steps 2-3 to finish off your leaf garland.

If you wanted to add a little more interest to your garland, you could knot the jute cord inbetween each leaf.

Step 4:

Every day, starting November 1, have everyone in your family choose a leave to write 1 thing they are thankful for that day.

Then add to your Thankful Fall Leaf Garland using a clothespin.

Now you have a beautiful garland to display what you are thankful for this holiday season. You can add this to your mantel, or place the leaves on a table as a fun centerpiece for your thanksgiving table. This diy fall garland is so easy, you can find lots of ways to really make it your own.
