Organize Your Next Moving Adventure

Are your ready for your next moving adventure? Are you dreading it and thinking that burning it all would be easier? Maybe I’m the only one who has contemplated that haha. Hello Crafting Chicks readers! I’m Michelle from Michelle Lea Creative. It’s been an insane 2 months of moving and I missed not sharing with you last month.

Our little military family has moved many many times in the past 17 years. This adventure has taken us to Washington DC and we are so excited to start exploring and learning our way around. Since we have been dealing with moving 24/7 for weeks and weeks, I’m going to share with you my moving saving grace…. my moving checklist!

Moving is listed as one of the most stressful life events and I can attest to that. We have moved 14 times and it takes a positive attitude and planning for the unexpected to survive the whole ordeal. Over the years, we have dealt with almost all of the issues and have cried, complained and had a few beers to make it through.

Staying positive is my number 1 recommendation… but the other item that has made our lives easier is being organized before we pack up the house. It makes the unpack and decorating so much easier on the other end. For example, I will place the shower curtain, rings, towels and decorations of one bathroom into an extra large ziplock. I do the same thing with the items from each room that go together. It is still chaos when we get to the new house, but this little trick makes it easier for me to open a box and have a bathroom or bedroom put together in minutes, instead of searching through hundreds of boxes for the shower curtain rings.
