I love a good quick bread recipe. Along with Banana Bread, this Perfect Poppy Seed Bread might be my favorite.
I’ve always loved having lemon flavor in my poppy seed bread, but my husband doesn’t love lemon flavor. So this recipe has the citrus kick with orange juice in the glaze instead of lemon.
Here’s what you’ll need to make this Perfect Poppy Seed Bread recipe.
- Baking Powder
- Poppy Seed
- Almond Extract
- and Oil
Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl. I love using my Kitchen Aid for this bread.
Pour the batter evenly into 2 bread pans.
Place in a 350 degree F oven, for 50-60 minutes.
While the bread is baking, it’s time to make the Citrus Glaze.
What you’ll need for the glaze is:
- Orange Juice
- Almond Extract
Add all the ingredients into a bowl and whisk together.
As soon as you remove the bread from the oven you’ll want to pour the glaze over the top.
Now slice up that bread and serve it to those you love…or snack on it yourself!
Since this recipe makes two full size loafs of bread, you can share with friends and neighbors!
