“School is Cool” Back to School Breakfast
This post brought to you by American Frozen Foods Institute and the Frozen Food Roundtable. All opinions are 100% mine.
Every year before school starts we have a special “Back to School” breakfast. My kids love it and look forward to it. This year we are having a waffle & smoothie “SCHOOL is COOL” party! You can download my free “School is Cool” printable (8×10):
Being a busy mom…I love being able to make quick, healthy meals. Choosing frozen waffles, breakfast foods, and frozen fruit help make preparing healthy breakfast easier.
Top reasons I love using frozen foods…frozen foods are made from real ingredients, and really are fresh food…paused….How fresh stays fresh:) Locking in the flavor, freshness & nutrition. I think it is great that consumers are being informed about the quality of frozen foods. This can make life much easier, especially when throwing parties , or cooking for your family. It’s so important to eat together each day as a family, and frozen helps make this possible….eliminating so much prep work.
To Save time on your Back to school breakfast…you will love making this waffle bar and smoothie recipes for your family & friends:
Waffle Bar:
-Kellogg’s Nutrigrain Eggo Waffles in Honey Oat (you can toast these and then place in oven on warm until ready to eat)
-Frozen berries (strawberries or blueberries) thawed
-Frozen whipped topping
-You can add other toppings such a peanut butter, syrup, bananas, etc.
Place all toppings in bowls and set up for a self served waffle bar.
Breakfast Smoothies, Sharing my two favorite:
Berry:
-Frozen Berries
-Yogurt (plain or greek)
-frozen bananas (this helps make it sweet without adding sugar)
-Agave
-Apple or orange juice
Add about a cup of frozen berries, 1 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen bananas, a little agave and 1/2 orange juice. The frozen berries act as ice. Blend up and serve! (Served 2-4 depending on size of cup)
Orange Banana:
-Frozen Bananas
-1 whole orange
-Orange Juice (I like the frozen Orange Juice)
-Yogurt (plain or greek)
-Agave
Add about 1 cup frozen bananas, 1 Cup orange juice, 1 orange, yogurt (1/2 cup), and agave to taste. I also add spinach in both of these. Served about 2-4 depending on size of cup
There you have a very fun back to school breakfast! Kids will love the smoothies and Waffle Bar! A great way to kick off the school year!
