St. Patrick’s Day Crossword
Hey there Crafty Readers! It’s Sydney from Tastefully Frugal and I’m excited to be here again with you today sharing a fun St. Patrick’s Day activity, St. Patrick’s Day Crossword.
I remember as a little girl, when I would go visit my grandparents, my grandpa would always flip open the Sunday paper to the crossword puzzle and he wouldn’t leave the table until he finished it. I would sit there and watch him, and as I got older I would try to help him finish the puzzles.
From watching him do crossword puzzles I grew to love words, reading and writing. I used to try to find the longest word possible to complete a sentence. I am hoping to pass my love for the written word on to my boys as well. And what better way to learn new words then with my grandpa’s favorite past time; crossword puzzles.
St. Patrick’s Day Crossword
I had a lot of fun creating and researching this St. Patrick’s Day crossword puzzle I’m sharing today. I learned a lot about the holiday; like did you know that in the 17th century they used to eat shamrocks to freshen their breath?! I also learned how to create a crossword puzzle in Microsoft Word. It’s super easy but does take a little time. I’ll be sharing a tutorial over on Tastefully Frugal later this month. Download your crossword (I included the answer sheet too) and share it with your kids, grandkids, or anyone else you know who loves crosswords. This can also make a great class project for the holiday as well.

I can’t remember when I didn’t like crossword puzzles. I have made them, by hand, for Sunday school classes and 4 H groups so I know that while it is fun it is work! Thanks for this one. It will be my St Patties day card to several people, including some shut ins.
Thanks and blessings to you.
The teacher in me really loves this!! My family is big into word puzzles of any kinds and sudokus! I am going to print this out for when I babysit my niece and nephew next weekend. What a fun activity it will be to do together!
