The talented Kristen from Capturing Joy is here today sharing an adorable snack idea for zoo week!
Hi crafting friends! I’m delighted to be hanging out with The Chicks today, to share a zoo animal snack idea, in this Mother Hen’s Summer Survival Guide. My name is Kristen Duke, and I share all sorts of fun family stuff over at Capturing Joy. Just recently, I started a segment to start a parenting discussion, come on over and read all about it! I’ve got 4 kids (2 teens, 1 tween, 1 pre-tween) and I love to do fun activities like making animals out of food, to beat the summer blues, I hope you enjoy this, too!
It’s really quite simple, I don’t even have a step by step for you. I’ve got a monkey, an owl, and a fishy (all zoo animals, right?)
- spread of choice (I love nutella)
Cut up banana and strawberry slices, patterned after the picture, and create your own animals, or similar to the above.
We even made a little dolphin with the banana skin. Dolphins are at the zoo, right? I didn’t completely come up with the idea, I’d seen different food animals around the web, but I just tinkered with the ingredients. It’s ok to play with your food sometimes, right?
Not only did my daughter have fun assembling the snack, she sure loved eating it, too!
Go ahead, play with your food!
Thanks for letting me visit today, Crafting Chicks and friends! If you end up making these toast animals, I’d love for you to tag me on Instagram to let me know! You can find me @CapturingJoyBlog
