{Easter Garland and Easy Decor Ideas}

I saw this Easter garland in the Pottery Barn Kids catalog and fell in LOVE!  I had to make one!  I love how it turned out, so simple and sweet.  You can make one too.

You will need:

-Die cuts of bunnies, eggs and chicks.  I used my Silhouette but you could also cut them out at your local craft store.  Most craft stores have die cut machines.  You could make the banner smaller (using smaller cut outs) or bigger ones.

-Paper (I used the same paper for bunnies, same for all chicks, and had a few different patterns for the eggs.  You could also go plain pastel like Pottery Barn)

-fishing wire

-a tiny hole punch or needle

-Pretty silk ribbon

After choosing your paper, and cutting out your bunnies, eggs and chicks, you will string them together with the fishing wire.  You could do this two ways.  1) punch tiny holes on both sides of die cut and then weave the fishing wire through connecting them all  2) use a larger needle and sew the fishing wire through until all are attached.

And last, add some pretty silky ribbon at the beginning, middle and end.  Then hang up!  You could add this to your mantel, staircase, railing, window, door way or mirror for some Easter, springy decor.

Here are a few more simple Easter/Spring decor ideas!

Try adding some bird houses (I found these at Hobby Lobby) to the top of tall candlesticks!

Or how about bird nests.  I added these to the top of some other candlesticks I had.  (My kids love peeking at the nests and taking the eggs out and putting them back it-don’t these nests look real?-found them at Tai Pan.

And last, we spruced up our Easter tree this year.  I let my kids add the eggs and little peeps.  They love it (I even try not to move them after -when the kids aren’t looking:)

Spring is now IN our house, even if there are a couple of inches of snow OUTSIDE in our backyard!  What are some Easter decor ideas that you have thought of?  We would love to see them!

    Hate to say it…but yours is so much cuter than the PB one! Good job! Wish I had a Silhouette to cut those babies out…cutting them by hand does not appeal to me, so I will “pin” this to my Pinterest board for another time.

    Love your blog!

    Ha! You admit to moving decorations placed by your children. I’m Type A and have a very hard time not rearranging my kids’ decorating. I was good this year at Christmas and left almost all of their ornaments on the tree where they put them…until they started falling off the branches that is…
