White Elephant Photo Gifts {Christmas Tradition Series}
We love Kristyn! We love hanging out with her at conferences and we love that she’s hanging out here today with us!

Hi there!
It’s Kristyn from Lil’ Luna.
I’m so happy to be here on The Crafting Chicks (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these girls) today sharing a fun Christmas Tradition. And the tradition may be a little strange but it has brought our family so much fun and laughter.
Every year, the entire Luna clan comes over to my mom’s for a White Elephant Exchange on the first Monday in December. We all wear our pajamas, and we always have breakfast for dinner. The menu is filled with every delicious Breakfast food you can think of (Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Donuts, Chorizo, Cinnamon Rolls – you name it!!) We eat and always have a White Elephant Exchange followed by a visit from Santa for the kiddos.
It has become tradition for me to give the same thing for the Exchange each year, and it’s kinda the present everyone fights over. Let me preface by saying that my family likes to laugh and we can laugh at ourselves too. 😉 It’s definitely a good thing we can do that because each Thanksgiving I take pictures of everyone in the family, and using a program called Magic Mirror, I warp/edit everyone’s pictures to make them a bit more comical.
For example:
Here is a picture of the hubby and I (yes, everyone knows exactly why I’m taking pictures on Thanksgiving and usually make funny faces, which makes the pictures even more “beautiful” aka scary).
Using the program mentioned above, I then edit them to look a little more like this:
Now, I know what you’re thinking… those Lunas are crazy!!
And maybe we are, BUT these pictures keep us laughing all night long and for months to come!
Even all the kiddos get a laugh out of it and think it’s such a great idea. As adults, we like that our kiddos can see not so pretty pictures of themselves and laugh about it. 😉
I make sure I get pictures of every person in the family, edit them all and then print them off. I then put them in a $1 photo album and call it good. Like I mentioned above, it’s the gift everyone ends up fighting over and although it may seem a little weird, it has become our FAVORITE Luna Family Christmas Tradition.
If your family can laugh at themselves and has a sense of humor, then they might like this idea too. 😉
Now, I promise not all of my ideas are this crazy, but if you are looking for some awesome Christmas ideas, hop on over to the blog. I’d love to have you come on over and visit. 🙂
