Hi there, friends! It’s Keri from Shaken Together and I am so glad to hang out with you all Summer long during the Chicks’ Mother Hen series! Since we’re in Water Play week, I figured I would share a refreshing fruit infused water that is healthy and delicious!

Rainbow Fruit Water with Frozen Fruit

Now, this isn’t just any ol’ fruit infused water. This Rainbow Fruit Water starts with an assortment of rainbow colored fresh fruit:

  • Strawberries
  • Oranges
  • Cantelope
  • Pineapple
  • Green Grapes
  • Kiwis
  • Purple Grapes

You can use whatever fruit your family enjoys, so you can substitute watermelon, peaches, star fruit, lemons, limes, honeydew melon, blueberries, plums and more.

While you can just cut the fruit into cubes and slices, it’s a little more fun if you use my secret weapon:

Make Rainbow Fruit Water fun by using mini cookie cutters to cut fruit into fun shapes!

That’s right … mini cookie cutters!! These cute cutters make it so easy to make strawberry hearts, cantaloupe tulips, pineapple stars and kiwi flowers!

Tips for preparing the rainbow fruit for the freezer:

  • Use small half sheet baking sheets to make it easier to fit the pans in your freezer.
  • Wash the outside of oranges, strawberries and grapes since the fruit will be placed in water for drinking.
  • When cutting slices of fruit, make sure your slices are not thicker than the height of your cookie cutters.
  • To make the strawberry hearts, cut large strawberries in half lengthwise and then line up the heart shaped cutter with the natural shape of the strawberry.
  • Use the leftover fruit pieces for fruit salad, to stir into yogurt or to top waffles.

Once the fruit is sliced and cut, place it in the freezer for a few hours. Isn’t the frozen fruit so pretty?!

Frozen fruit is the healthy secret to our Rainbow Fruit Water! Kids and adults will love this refreshing Summer drink!

The frozen fruit will flavor the water as it thaws but it will also serve as ice cubes to keep water COLD! Now, let’s make a few glasses of this Rainbow Fruit Water!
