Candy Corn Turkey Thanksgiving Cupcakes
This Thanksgiving dessert starts with one of my favorite things: cupcakes. If you have a killer cupcake or frosting recipe, then go for it. Otherwise, feel free to take a short cut like I did and pick up frosted cupcakes from your local bakery.
Then, build your candy turkey. This is a great way to use up leftover Halloween candy. (I know, I know … what leftover candy?)
- Peanut butter cups
- Butterscotch chips
- Candy corn – I used the colorful green, red and caramel colored Apple Mix from Brach’s but you can use the traditionally colored candy corn if you want
- Mini candy eyes
First, center a peanut butter cup towards the bottom of the cupcake.
Spread candy corn in alternating colors around the peanut butter cup for the turkey feathers.
If you live in Florida like me, it is 90 degrees in October and my peanut butter cups were soft enough that the eyes and butterscotch chip beak stuck to the peanut butter cup. If not, use a little extra dab of frosting to secure the eyes and beak to the turkey face.
Could these be any easier?!
And seriously … that face!
These Thanksgiving cupcakes would be a fun activity to keep the littles busy until Thanksgiving dinner is done. Or, to keep them busy while the adults nap after a big Thanksgiving lunch 😉
You could add pretzel stick legs or a red frosting waddle, but whatever you do, don’t forget to pin these Candy Corn Turkey Thanksgiving Cupcakes!
