Dr. Seuss Birthday Party

This weekend was bitter-sweet. My baby turned 1! Exciting and fun? Yes! But my baby is a toddler now. What’s a mom to do?

She was born on March 2, which is Dr. Seuss’s birthday. I just knew I had to throw a Dr. Seuss inspired party. I got lots of fun idea from Pinterest which you can find on my Party board, but here’s my little twist to it. 🙂

For my little one I made a cute red and white tutu. How could I not right?

I found a cute saying for the invite and threw her picture on it. If you are planning on doing a Dr. Seuss party you will want to download the Grinched Font.  It’s free and it is perfect!

For the decor, I wanted to incorporate all the Dr. Seuss’s books we had.

I got my Who Bug the Happy Birthday To You book and had everyone who came to the party sign it will a little note. I put a picture of her inside the front cover and I think it will be a great keepsake for her.

I also found some great red and white polka-dot wrapping paper that worked great for table covers. I found some fun gumballs to place in vases for an extra punch of color, and they also doubled for take home treats for the kiddos. 😉

I made fun Dr. Seuss inspired titles for almost everything we had. That was super fun cause you can almost do anything.

I also made some cute banners out of Dr. Seuss books I bought at a thrift store. I can’t find my pictures of them darn it! I’ll post them once I find them.

Now for the food.

We had One fish, Two fish, Red fish, Goldfish crackers, Hop on Soda Pop, Sneech Sandwiches, Truffula fruit, Oh me, Oh my, yummy mini cupcakes to try from The Sweet Tooth Fairy, and Hadley Who Cakebites from The Sweet Tooth Fairy. It was all so tasty and pretty easy too.

Now for the cake!

My friend Michelle makes cakes and you can find her Facebook page For Goodness’ Cake. She makes some very stunning cakes and they are so yummy too!

We had a lot of fun and I still can’t believe she is 1!

Would that be okay? – Victoria (obSEUSSed @ live.com) You can always add your link to my Dr. Seuss link collection: http://www.obseussed.com/p/books.html It gets a lot of visitors over the next few months and I just pinned it on Pinterest as well. So glad I saw this on the side while looking at your Paris Bakery party posts. I used your flower rosette idea on my daughter’s chef hats for her chef party that same week when I saw it on Instagram.
