Who’s ready for a summer of fun! We’re kicking off another year of our Mother Hen Summer Survival Series – to help us not just survive summer but to blow it out of the water with fun weekly themes.

School is out and the kids are ready to be entertained. Well, at least our kids. In order to celebrate and spend time with our kids without handing over the electronics, we are sharing our Mother Hen Summer Survival Series 2017.

This is the third year we’ve done this series and it has become a favorite for readers, other bloggers, and us! We love inviting blogging friend to contribute their ideas for each of our theme weeks.

Year 1

Year 2

We did do things a little different this year so let me tell you the format.

  • Mondays–DIY Craft
  • Tuesdays–Recipe
  • Wednesday–Kid Craft or Activity
  • Thursday–Printable
  • Friday–Roundup

We kick off Week 1 with Nature:
Nature Kids Crafts and Activities - DIY Butterfly House, painted rocks, rainforest in a jar, salt dough starfish, treasure hunt, hummingbird feeder, pinecone animals and explorer journal

Week 2 Water Play:

Water Play Kids Activities | Summer water games | Water balloon games, squirt gun races, and painting crafts

Week 3: Gardening

Garden Kids Crafts and Activities | Bug Garden, Elevated Garden Box for Kids, Felt Play Garden, and DIY Terranium. Fun activities for kids this summer!

Week 4: Outdoor Art

Week 5: Famous ArtistsFamous Artists Kids Crafts and Activities | Teach kids about famous artists through fun activities, easy crafts and art projects.

Week 6: Patriotic

Week 7: Sewing Fun!

Week 8: Cooking in the Kitchen with Kids
