Here’s what you’ll to make your own Turkey Cone Kids’ Crafts:

Step 1:

Put some of the brown paint on a small plastic or paper plate or in a cup.

Step 2:

Start by painting the cones brown. One light layer is all that is needed, but have them coat the entire cone. Set aside and let dry.

Step 3:

Once the paint has dried, let the kids choose which eyes they want for their turkey. Apply eyes to the cone.

Step 4:

Take some orange and red construction paper and cut out the beak and wattle. To cut out the beak, fold the orange paper over about 1.5″ and cut a triangle shape out. For the wattle, just free hand cut a wiggly “J” shape on the red paper.

Step 5:

Glue the beak and wattle on with glue dots.

Step 6:

Place about 5-7 Glue Dots in a row on the back of the turkey. They can be staggered and you can add more after if you need more for your turkey.

Step 7:

Let the kids gather the feathers they want on their turkey. Have them begin to place the feathers on the Glue Dots.

Step 8:

Once all the feathers are on you are done. Now you’re ready to display the Turkey Cone.

I think it is so fun to see how different each Turkey Cone can be. Set them up in a little group on a mantle or shelf to add some handmade holiday flair to any space!

These would be so much fun to do as a playgroup, preschool, school or even church group. The mess is minimal and the clean up is easy.

I feel like the kids were able to make them easily and each one looked different. My girls have their turkey cones out on display and I can’t wait to put them up year after year.

  1. I have tried to down load the Thanksgiving Snack boat sail pattern and just having a hard time getting it to work for me. Is there any other way you could send me a easier format that I can print these off?
    Thank you for your help.
