Easy Crockpot Chicken Cacciatore

in Recipes and Food,summer

I have to say that I {heart} my crock pot in the summer.  I love the fact that I don’t have to heat my house up, but I can still have a warm home-cooked meal ready for dinner.

This is a recipe that is so super easy and simple.  I just threw it together one day and I have to say, I think it is divine!  I hope you enjoy it too.

{Easy Crock Pot Chicken Cacciatore}

Here is your list of ingredients:

1-2 chicken breasts
1 packet of Spaghetti Sauce mix (I love the cheap brand the best!),
1- 8oz can of tomato sauce
olive oil
water
(Feel free to double this if you have a larger family.  Or if you want more sauce, you can double everything but the chicken.)

All the ingredients you need to make easy crockpot Chicken cacciatorie

First off, spray your crock pot with a non-stick spray.  Then  add the spaghetti sauce mix, the tomato sauce, 1 1/2 cans full of water, and about 2 tbls. of olive oil.  Stir together.

Add your chicken.  I usually throw in frozen chicken, cause let’s be honest, who has time to thaw things?  Cook this on high for about 3-4 hours and on low 6-7.   (I usually cook mine on high and it still turns out so moist and tasty.)

Pulling the chicken for easy crockpot chicken cacciatori

After about 3 hours, or when the chicken is cooked through, I will pull my chicken.  This will help the flavors seep into more of the chicken making it super yummy.  After it is pulled, cook if for about 30 mins-1 hour longer.

Cook some spaghetti noodles and serve your Chicken Cacciatore over top.  I like to sprinkle some fresh parmesan cheese over top.  This is a yummy alternative to regular old spaghetti.

Enjoy!

This sounds yummy. I too love cooking with a crockpot for that exact same reason. Also only one dish to wash at the end.

I love it!! I make something very close to this but I add fresh vegetables about the last 1 hour, zuccini, carrots, olives, mushrooms. What ever you are growing in your garden. If they are hidden in the sauce sometimes the kiddos will eat them.

A new family favorite! My favorite for how easy it was.
I love the idea of adding fresh vegi’s in the last hour.

I made the chicken caccitore the other nite. It turned out tasty. I added green peppers and some onions to it. For some reason I wasn’t able to add another comment under my question in facebook to respond back. It might be due to my setting that I set up for facebook.
