freeze time with your kids

With only a couple of weeks before school starts again, I’m starting to do the math. My oldest only has 8 more years at home with us. That means he’s lived with us over half the amount of his lifetime we’ll get to spend with him already! It’s the last year my youngest will be home with me all day before she starts school next year… You guys this is the kind of stuff that makes a mom start to panic. My heart gets squeezed just thinking about it all. I find myself wanting to freeze time. And I definitely don’t want summer to end.

Summer Mornings

I want to remember the neighborhood baseball games, the chill in the air and the smell of fire as we roast marshmallows at the end of a summer day. I want to put pause on lazy summer mornings when the kids climb in bed and we snuggle and laugh.

I don’t want to forget when she dresses as a princess to play outside.

I’ve been looking and trying to find a way to never forget, to pause life at these special moments but I haven’t come up with anything besides my camera. The camera is a great place to begin freezing time, and Instagram makes it easy to share those memories. My kids spend hours thumbing through our Instagram memories that we’ve printed out. To make sure I’m capturing more than just images and facts I’ve compiled a list of photo prompts – to make sure I’m freezing time and capturing these little personalities as much as possible.
