Peppermint Fudge Brownies: A Festive Treat | The Crafting Chicks

Hey there Crafty Readers! I’m super excited to be here with you today sharing my favorite brownie recipe with a new twist. My boys love cooking in the kitchen with me and they request these brownies on a regular basis. I love the recipe because it is so easy to make and is a good one to have young bakers help with (and they taste really good too)!

The other day we had a Peppermint Chocolate Chip Milkshake from Chick-fil-A; if you haven’t had one yet you have to try it! As we were enjoying our shakes we were talking about what we wanted to do the rest of the day and they mentioned they wanted to cook something. That’s when I thought; why not combine two of my favorite things into one sweet treat. When we got home we made a batch of our brownies. While they were baking we made a few changes to the frosting. We took out the cocoa powder and added peppermint oil (I just used my EOs but if you have peppermint extract you can use that too) and crushed up candy canes. The key with these brownies and the frosting is to add the frosting after the brownies have been out of the oven 5-10 minutes. You want that peppermint goodness flavor to soak into the brownies.

These brownies turned out better than I could have imagined. We took a batch to a family party last week and they were gone in seconds. If you are looking for a festive treat to take to a get together this season (or any time of year really) whip up a batch of these Peppermint Chocolate Brownies; your guests will thank you!
