On the Farm Snack Mix

Hi my fellow Crafting Chicks!! I’m so excited to be participating in the Mother Hen Summer Survival Guide! This fun On the Farm Snack Mix with keep your little cowboys’ and cowgirls’ hands busy and their bellies full!

I am a huge animal lover. My parents were gracious enough to indulge that love, so at one point or another we had 3 cats, a rescued parakeet, a Netherland Dwarf rabbit, a Pekin duck and a pot bellied pig. You would have thought we lived on a farm. Yee haw, ya’ll!

So I am channeling my inner cowgirl and in true farm fashion, I’ve created this snack mix that is full of all the things you will find on the farm!

Frosted Mini Wheats cereal become bales of hay and pretzel sticks turn into fencing to keep the animals corralled and the crops protected.

Mini Oreo cookies are tasty tractor tires!

Sunflower seeds are seeds for the crops and feed for the chickens! Plus, they add a nice salty crunch.

Animal Crackers – the animals around the farm. What? Your farm doesn’t have elephants and bears?! 😉

And finally, Annie’s Bernie’s Farm Animal Cookies give the snack mix a punch of color and features fun things around the farm like the barn, tractors, carrots for the field and more!

Mix together all of the ingredients in a large bowl or jar and serve it with a scoop and serving cups.

Before your cow-kids chow down, give them a paper plate or a baking sheet and let them build their farm, complete with fence lined fields of animals, space to plant the crops, a place to park the tractors and more! This is when it is totally okay to play with your food!!
