DIY Farmhouse Woven Basket Spring Wreath | Make a darling farmhouse style spring wreath using a woven basket, some spring blooms and cute galvanized metal letters!

Hi cute chicks! Tiffany, here again from Making the World Cuter here to share a fun project you can make in less than 30 minutes. I am constantly remodeling my home into the farmhouse of my dreams. Farmhouse decor like my Family Command Center I shared a couple months ago makes me deliriously happy!

Making wreaths also makes me happy! My husband actually requests that I give wreaths away every time I make a new one so that there are room for all of them in our garage. That’s fine with me, I love giving them away almost as much as I do making them and hanging them up at my own house!

When shopping for new wreath supplies, I came across these woven baskets in different colors and sizes. They are also called tobacco baskets, if you are out looking for some! Of course I chose white and found some fun things to go in it!

Let’s make this spring wreath shall we? Affiliate links may be included in this post.

Supplies for farmhouse woven basket spring wreath

Supplies:

  • White woven basket (found this square one at Hobby Lobby in the Spring Decor area, they have other sizes as well)
  • Galvanized hi. (found this at Hobby Lobby as well by all the other word art)
  • Artificial Flowers of your choice
  • Burlap Ribbon (I had this on hand, but you can usually find a good selection near the wedding stuff at a craft store)
  • Jewelry Wire
  • Scissors
  • Wire Snips (not pictured above, but they are pictured below)

Wire and wire snips for spring wreath

First thing we do is cut a couple pieces of wire a few inches long with our wire snips.

Then, if you have a place to attach to your word decor on the back, then use that to put the wire through. If not, you can also wrap around to attach.

Then you can just pull the wires around the strips of the woven basket and twist them tight to hold it on.

Next it’s time to put the flowers together. I found these little blossoms at Michaels in some fun spring colors, but feel free to choose your favorites and have fun making it your own!

Floral stems for spring wreath

If you use similar flowers, bend the stems up so that they aren’t so long. Then you can tie your ribbon around the bottom. This little animation shows how I wrapped this. I tied three knots just right below the next. It covers all the bottom of the stems and makes for a fun and interesting way to wrap the ribbon.

Then using the wire, go through the stems and twist the wire around the back.

To hang the wreath, you can hang it from the basket itself, or use a piece of the ribbon tied in a strong knot. Cute woven basket spring wreath

Hang on your front door, on your pantry, over your oven or in an entry way! I love the touch of fun the “hi” adds. And also the  unexpected use of the woven basket in this spring wreath makes me happy!
