Pinewood Derby Slow Car Award

Pinewood Derbies come with a lot of excitement. Boys and their dads spend hours working on their cars, each hoping they build the fastest car. No matter how fast the cars, someone has to come in last place and for them we have the Slow Car Award.

It’s become a tradition to hand out a chocolate cake to our last place car. A little of the sting of being dead last is taken away when they are handed a chocolate cake. To make it official I add vinyl to a cake plate I get from the dollar store. You can download the file below.

Over the years word has gotten out about how good this cake is. It’s made from a doctored cake mix, so super easy but very delicious!

To use: Download the file and import into your cutting software. Use the eraser to get rid of the white area, leaving the black wording and tire. Resize so it isn’t taller than your cake dome and cut out of black vinyl.
