Hello Crafting Chicks readers! It’s Kimberly again from Get Away Today. As the year comes to a close, it’s time to start thinking about Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019. Can you believe Halloween Time has been in full swing since September? Starting November 8, 2019, Disneyland will be decked with boughs of holly and so much more!

Guide to Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019

I’m so excited to share details of Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019; it’s such a magical time of year that brings a whole new feel to the Parks. Use this guide to Holidays at Disneyland Resort to help you plan your 2019 family vacation, or map out the visit you’ve already booked.

Guide to Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019 – Decor

When you enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park during the holidays, you’re greeted with festive cheer at every turn. Touches of wintertime appear on archways, storefronts, trolleys and even Disney Characters. Wreaths, garland, ribbon, lights and faux icicles adorn iconic landmarks throughout the Parks, immersing you in the spirit of the season.

When in Disneyland Park, be sure to stop and marvel at the Main Street, U.S.A. Christmas tree. Continue down the street toward Sleeping Beauty Castle and be dazzled by its winter makeover featuring holiday trappings. Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty Castle is celebrated each night with snowfall (weather permitting), music and a ceremonial lighting. Pass through the Castle drawbridge and head to “it’s a small world” to take in the temporary holiday-themed overlay to the ride’s exterior. This iconic Fantasyland attraction boasts a nightly lighting ceremony as well.

Enter Disney California Adventure Park via Buena Vista Street and be greeted by a 50-foot holiday tree. Each night this lovely tree, loaded with ornaments, lights up outside Elias & Co.. Explore a little further into the Park and head to Cars Land. The welcome sign outside Radiator Springs features winter-themed greetings and even a “snowcar.”

Guide to Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019 – Ride Overlays

For the seasonal celebrations during Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019, a number of rides and attractions feature overlays you won’t want to miss.

Disneyland Park holiday overlays include Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday. See how Jack, the Pumpkin King, celebrates Christmas with his pals in the Haunted Mansion. For a new twist on “it’s a small world,” take a ride on the gentle stream to the sounds of holiday tunes.

In Disney California Adventure Park, the always-festive town of Radiator Springs offers two limited-time overlays during Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. Look for winter-themed decor at Mator’s Jingle Jamboree and take a spin on his tractors accompanied by holiday music. Similarly, Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl invites you to dance in his Italian roadsters while he serenades guests with Christmas songs.

Guide to Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019 – Entertainment

There is almost always a fun parade or show to see at Disneyland Resort, and during the holidays is no exception! Look for the following themed events at Disneyland between November 8, 2019 and January 6, 2020.

Catch some of your favorite Disney Characters in their best holiday-themed attire during A Christmas Fantasy Parade. Accompanied by marching toy soldiers, floats and more, A Christmas Fantasy Parade makes its way down Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park.

I mentioned Wintertime Enchantment at Sleeping Beauty Castle, but did you know there is also a spectacular fireworks show? “Believe…In Holiday Magic” takes place over the Castle on select nights, weather permitting.

In Disney California Adventure Park, you can meet Santa himself in Redwood Creek Challenge Trail until Christmas Eve (December 24, 2019). At that point, Santa will be replaced by a helpful Disney Character so he can make his holiday deliveries!

In Paradise Gardens Park, join other Disney California Adventure guests for a Latin-infused holiday celebration. Disney Festival of Holidays offers quite a few entertainment options for guests visiting during Holidays at Disneyland Resort.

  • Disney ¡Viva Navidad!: This street festival is colorful, festive and fun for all ages! Mariachi musicians and folklórico dancers parade through Paradise Gardens Park, along with the Three Caballeros and giant puppets.
  • Three Kings Day: January 3 – 6, 2020 you can celebrate the close of Holidays at Disneyland Resort. Also in Paradise Gardens Park, Three Kings Day honors the 3 Wisemen and the 12th Day of Christmas.

Be sure to download the free, official Disneyland app before your trip. This is one of the best tools to use to keep track of show times, and the locations of your favorite Disney Characters you can meet in the Parks.

Guide to Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019 – Food

Throughout both Parks during Holidays at Disneyland Resort 2019 you’ll find limited-time, seasonal menu items at your favorite restaurants and kiosks. Whether it’s a hot cocoa churro, peppermint beignets or eggnog cheesecake, there’s a lot to taste! Disney hasn’t yet released their holiday food guide, but we do know you need to check out the Festive Foods Marketplace in Disney California Adventure Park during holidays at Disneyland Resort.

  • Festive Foods Marketplace: Here you’ll find up to 12 food vendors offering dishes from around the world. We’ve seen information about a Festive Foods Sip and Savor pass, much like the one available during Disney Food and Wine Festival. With this $56 purchase, you can select eight menu items from any of the vendors in the Marketplace. Also, look for a free Holidays Tastings Passport at any vendor and get a stamp every time you purchase something to eat. This is a fun, free souvenir to remember your visit.
