Camping Adventure Photo Bunting

My family spends a lot of time outside camping, hiking and just exploring and I’ve been trying to think of a way to bring some of those adventures and memories home without doing a traditional framed gallery wall and really letting my kids be a part of the process. This Camping Adventure Photo Bunting was the perfect solution. We went camping at our favorite secret spot last weekend and while we were there I had my kids pick some of their favorite plants and flowers. It was fun to see my son really be fascinated by leaves with texture while my daughters were, of course, obsessed with the flowers. I saved them in a baggie and when we got home I got busy.

The first Thing you need to do is lay all your goodies out on a piece of wax paper (make sure it is shiny side up). Lay them out so that they overlap a little bit and that there isn’t too much empty space between them. Then you are going to lay another piece of wax paper on top (shiny side down) and iron the heck out of them. I originally tried doing this with a thin towel on top, but it wasn’t working so I ironed directly on the wax paper. If you do this, be careful and use common sense!

Once the two layers of wax paper were sealed shut, and cooled off I got out my scissors and started cutting. I cut my wax paper into 4″x4″ squares to match the insta prints I had from our trip. Read about how to print super, duper, easily HERE.

Then it’s a matter of stringing some twine or jute or yarn or string or whatever you like and/or have already in your house and then taping your squares to it! I absolutely love how it turned out, my kids love pointing out which plants they picked and it is a fun and different way to capture those camping memories!
