Dance Leotard & Tutu Cupcake Toppers
For my 5 year old’s birthday party we decided to go with a Purplicious Dance Party theme–combining her favorite color with her favorite activity! 😉 I made some simple dance leotard & tutu cupcake toppers to help tie it all together. I was happy with how quickly these came together.
Supplies to make leotard cupcake toppers:
cupcake liners for the tutu part from any party store
lollipop sticks
tape (or glue would work too)
leotard shapes cut from cardstock
stickers or embellishments if desired
scissors
First I cut the leotards out of light pink cardstock using my Cricut Mini electronic cutter–I used a shape from “Paper Doll Dress Ups“. You could also find an image online of a ballerina or leotard and cut it out yourself if you don’t have a cutter.
Next I folded a purple and white polka dot cupcake liner in half. . .
then I cut a semi-circle out of the middle like this.
Next I slide the cupcake liner onto the tutu and secured with a little piece of tape. I also taped the lollipop stick to the back of the leotard.
SO EASY!! I love the polka dots and I love how the cupcake liners give the tutu some flair and dimension! They are the perfect shape for a tutu.
I added little sparkly butterfly stickers to the front and then stuck the leotard cupcake toppers into the cupcakes for the birthday girl! She loved them. 🙂 It would also be cute to add initials of the party guests or even let them decorate their own leotards as a craft.
Soon I’ll share more Purplicious party ideas, along with a printable “Purplicious Bingo” game we played!
My little girls are going to love these!
