How to Make a Turkey Crayon Holder

This project comes together quickly and works well for preschoolers, toddlers, and early elementary kids. Older kids can make their Turkey’s Body with more detail, while younger kids can keep it simple.

These DIY Turkey Sack Crayon Holders are the cutest way to add crayons to a kids’ place setting for Thanksgiving. Just add a turkey head and feathers, to a mini brown paper sack. Kids will love storing crayons in these mini turkey holders. We added these holders to our Thanksgiving table so the kids could color their place mats with crayons.

Step 1:  Cut Out the Turkey Face

Grab your brown craft foam sheet. Cut out a round brown circle (about 2.5. in.) for the turkey’s face, a red gobbler, and an orange triangle beak from the foam sheets. Keep the shapes simple so kids can assemble them easily. Glue the pieces together to complete the Turkey’s face. This adds personality to the Turkey Crayon Holder and helps kids feel connected to their Thanksgiving craft.

Why Kids Love This Thanksgiving Craft

Kids enjoy hands-on projects, especially ones that feel like toys. These Crayon Holders are interactive and cute. They help keep kiddos busy and also add decoration to your Thanksgiving table. Because every child creates a different Turkey, each one becomes a keepsake. The crayons also encourage coloring, so pair them with Turkey Coloring Pages or Thanksgiving Activity Sheets to make the craft even more useful.
