Money Saving Tips for SeaWorld San Diego
Money Saving Tips for SeaWorld Tickets
The easiest way to save money is to buy your tickets in advance. Get Away Today has some great deals where you can save up to $20 per ticket. They also offer tickets where you get free days. Be sure to check out Get Away Today and see what specials they are currently running on their SeaWorld San Diego tickets. They have always been the least expensive when I’ve looked, but if you find something better somewhere else, they’ll price match and beat it by $10.
Rides
Some attractions in the park cost extra (like the entire midway area) but all the rides are included in the price of the ticket! My coaster loving people found a few rides that got their hearts pounding. Be sure to chose your seat wisely on the Atlantis (pictured) or you’ll end up soaking wet! The Manta isn’t for the faint of heart. Shipwreck rapids is another wet and wild ride.
The little people aren’t left out either. There is a whole Sesame Street area for kids! My 4 year old loved that there were rides she could ride!
Animal Encounters
Some people want more to experience than just looking! Here are some free ways to experience the animals up close without having to fork over more money.
- At Dolphin Point guests are able to get up close with dolphins. While not every one was able to connect with a dolphin, guests are able to touch, feed and watch these amazing animals up close.
- Feed the animals. If you would like the experience of feeding an animal, there are fish to purchase ($5) to feed the sea lions. This isn’t free but $5 is about as close as it gets.
- Explorers Reef is full of touchable animals. From horseshoe crabs to white-spotted bamboo sharks. You can reach right in and explore what these underwater animals feel like.
- Under the Manta ride you will find a large pool of California Bat Rays that you are able to touch and feed. Again with the $5 fish.
Shows
While at SeaWorld be sure to catch the amazing shows at no additional cost. Stadiums fill up quickly, so be sure to get there early.
- Dolphins
- Sea Lions Live
- Pets Live
- Shamu
Food
SeaWorld allows outside food to be brought in to the park. Which can help save money on so many levels. At the very least be sure to bring in water bottles, and use the water bottle fill stations at each drinking fountain to refill throughout the day. A small back pack can hold snacks for the whole family. If you want to spend no money on food in the park you can pack an entire picnic to enjoy while watching a show.

The website says no outside food… I believe this article is incorrect.
