Rustic Olive 2×4 Sofa Table
Hello friends! Amanda here with The Contractor Chronicles and I am back today to share a fun little olive sofa table that is so easy to whip up and would look great anywhere in your home! The only tools you need for this project are a miter saw and a drill!
You can find the plans for this fun little 2×4 sofa table – complete with shopping list, cut list and break down – here!
Spencer and I didn’t have our Kreg Jig yet so we used 3” wood screws and screwed the whole thing together. I was fine with it since I knew we would be painting it and it didn’t matter if I had to use a lot of wood filler.
We followed the simple plans and within an hour had a fun and chunky sofa table built and ready for sanding!
After I had the whole thing sanded down, I used Minwax cherry stain and stained along all the sides and cracks. I did this so when I distressed it you would be able to see stained wood instead of white, clean wood.
Next, I gave the table a quick coat of Rustoluem Heirloom White – once again for the effect I wanted when I started to sand it down.
I used Rustoleum EDEN for the final coats. I love the green! When the table was dry, I used my sander and scuffed it up all over! I love seeing the white and the cherry stained wood show through.
I finished it up with a wax finish and we done!
I am totally digging the farmhouse and rustic style right now so the shabbiness of this table is awesome – and being made out of 2×4’s makes it super sturdy and solid and affordable!
Until next time!
