Dino Dana Diorama
Dino Diorama
We are gearing up for summer at our house. We can’t wait for lazy summer days and fun times with our kids.
The Crafting Chicks Mother Hen Summer series begins at the first of June with fun ideas to help moms keep kids happy and busy this summer. We love to incorporate learning into summer fun.
We had so much fun creating Dino Dioramas, with my dino loving kids.
I can’t wait to share this craft with you today!
We created some Dino Dioramas with our favorite prehistoric creatures. It was fun to add items to their “habitat” and create the dinosaur surroundings! My kids loved collecting parts of this from our backyard. I love how they created their mini dinosaur habitat.
Supplies:
- Cardstock (blue, green, red and brown)
- Scissors
- Cotton Balls
- Mini Dinosaurs
- Rocks
- Stapler
- Glue Sticks
- Twigs and Leaves
How to Create Dino Dioramas:
Step 1:
Fold an 8 1/3 x 11 inch piece of card stock from one corner all the way to the adjacent edge.
Step 2:
Cut off the bottom rectangle to reveal a 8.5 x 8.5 square. Step 3;
Cut a slit from one corner to the middle of the square. Step 4:
Fold in the two smaller triangles to create the diorama.
Staple down the edges. Step 5:
Using red, blue and brown cardstock, cut out shapes to create volcanoes and lakes for the diorama. Step 6:
Glue cotton clouds, the lake and volcano inside your diorama. Step 7:
Add rocks, leaves, and twigs or bark for some natural elements for the dinosaur habitat. Step 8:
Add your mini plastic dinosaurs throughout the diorama. Display in a fun spot all summer long! Enjoy using your imagination with your new dinosaur diorama.
