DIY Gift Bag with Cricut Maker
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.
I love keeping a stash of fun tissue paper and plain paper bags on hand to use for different holidays. It is easy to decorate bags with a little vinyl for different occasions. And I’m never caught without a bag, whether its Christmas, a birthday, baby shower, I no longer need a closet full of gift bags to be ready. Today, I’m going to walk you through how to make a DIY gift bag with Cricut Maker.
Craft paper or white gift bags can be found at any craft store and are sold in a bundle.

To keep things really simple, I cut the image out in one color. I’ve been using cutting machines for over 10 years, but this was my first time using the Cricut Maker. It’s such a pretty machine and cuts wonderfully!
After your vinyl has been cut it is time to weed. The little details on the truck really help the image come to life.

Use transfer tape to place the image on your gift bag. Transfer tape can be really sticky (which is good!) except when you are using it to put vinyl on paper. To prevent it from ripping the bags, I stick it to my shirt a couple of time to add little fibers and tone down the stickiness.
Peeling off transfer tape never gets old to me! It’s like Christmas morning just looking at the clean lines and finally getting to see the project I was hoping would really turn out!
I’m pretty sure no one would guess this is a DIY gift bag and not one I picked up at the store. If you create your own DIY Gift Bags with Cricut we would love to see them! Tag us on Instagram with #craftingchicks.

Thank you for the transfer tape tip! I’ve just started recently trying to DIY gift bags and became disappointed because of the ripping of the bag.
May I ask what vinyl you think would be best?
I think you could just use a regular vinyl or strongbond vinyl. Good luck!
