Dum-Dum Spider Suckers
Dum-Dum Spider Suckers are a quick and easy treat for any Halloween party. A fun and clever way to be creative without spending tons of money.
I love helping with Halloween Class parties. Being in the classroom for parties is one of my favorite things to do as a mom. There are so many fun things you can do to make class parties so much fun, but you don’t have to put a lot of time into it.
I also don’t want to take in a bunch of candy or cookies, since they will be getting a lot of sugar other places.
Last year I took all the supplies for these Dum-Dum Spider Suckers, and let the kids put them together for the craft portion of the party. They had so much fun with it and I wanted to share how we made them here. This is a super fun halloween craft that comes together super fast. You won’t even need a hot glue gun.
These Dum-Dum Spider Suckers are a little different than other spider suckers you may have seen floating around the internet. I found the larger suckers, or lollipops, harder to get the legs stable on. And I also used edible eyes and frosting to secure the eyes. I wanted the craft to be easy for the kids and to have more edible items for them too.
Here’s what you’ll need to make Dum-Dum Spider Suckers:

- Dum-Dum Suckers
- Black pipe cleaners or Chenille stems (these are the same thing, sometimes a different name is used.)
- Black Icing in a tube (may want to purchase a couple for several kids to use at once)
- Edible Eyes
Step 1:
Cut the Black pipe cleaners or Chenille stems in half for the spider legs. You will need 4 legs per spider. So 4 pipe cleaner pieces.
Step 2:
Place the middle of the pipe cleaner on the sucker stick and twist it around the stick. Then bend the ends for the legs.
Step 3:
Get 2 of the Edible Eyes place a dab of the Black Icing on the back and secure to the Dum-Dum wrapper. Set aside and let dry. You could use googly eyes too.
And there you have it.
And adorable and edible spider lollipops Halloween treat!
These would also make a super fun Halloween party favor.
