My 7th grader has taken home lunch just about every day of his school career. There’s nothing worse than opening your lunchbox to find the same thing you had yesterday and the day before that. Here are lunch ideas for school that will that lunchbox interesting.

Day 1

Mini Pizzas. Use naan rounds as the pizza crust and fill the box with shredded cheese, mini pepperonis, and pizza sauce so they can build their own pizzas at lunch. A juice box and clementine round out the lunch box.

Use mini cupcake liners to separate the pepperoni from the cheese.

Day 2

Turkey on rolls. Shake up a traditional lunch by building mini sandwiches on rolls. Pickles, watermelon, chips, and a bottle of water complete this lunch.

You don’t always have to send a juice box, kids (like adults) need water. Mini bottles of water fit great in a lunchbox.

Day 3

This is NACHO usual lunch! There’s a lot to dip in this lunch. Salsa and nacho cheese to dip tortilla chips in and caramel for the apples to dip into.

Pick up condiment cups at the grocery store to keep the dips from spilling-don’t forget to put the lids on!

Day 4

Yogurt parfait. Vanilla yogurt with granola and berries and a little mini muffin on the side.

Send a plastic spoon, so you don’t have to worry about your nice spoon making it back home.

Day 5

Naan and hummus. Naan dippers and vegetables to eat with the hummus. Berries and mini donuts complete this lunch.

If your child isn’t a hummus fan, give them a few chances to warm up to it. It is a healthier alternative than the ranch they are used to dipping their carrots in!
