Monkey Banana Muffins
Hi! I’m Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous® and I’m happy to be here to share a quick easy food craft with you today as part of the Chicks’ fun Summer Series! {love those girls!!} The theme is Rainforest and every time I think of a rain forest, I think of Monkeys! So I made these easy Monkey Banana Muffins as a fun treat for your littles.
These delicious little monkeys not only look cute, but they’re fun to eat! My 2 boys {ages 4 and 6} were my taste testers and they loved them! So these muffins are kid-approved.
Notice: I gave them all hair-do’s! 😉
How to Make Monkey Banana Muffins
Ingredients:
- Banana Break Mix {yes, I went the easy route!}
- Cupcake liners
- Vanilla wafers {2 per monkey}
- Black Gel Icing
- Chocolate Frosting
- Small Black Candies {2 per monkey}
Yep, I used a banana bread mix! Don’t shoot me! But you can use your favorite banana bread recipe and cook it in muffin tins…or buy a box like I did! hehe!
Make your banana muffins according to the directions on the box.
Let the muffins cool before decorating.
Frost each muffin with chocolate frosting. Notice how I gave each monkey a “hair-do” with a frosting swirl?! This one sorta looks like Elvis to me. lol
Place 1 vanilla water for the mouth, break the second vanilla wafer in half and place them on for the ears. Place the candies for the eyes and then draw 2 nostrils and a mouth with the black gel frosting. And done!
Super cute and very yummy! Your kids will love these monkey muffins!
