Greek Pork Souvlaki Kebabs
Greek Pork Souvlaki Kebabs are a summer dinner staple at our house. This recipe is so easy but is packed with delicious flavors.
My mom got this recipe from a friend who is Greek and her parent’s owned a Greek restaurant. The marinade is perfected and has been passed down through generations. It is better than any Greek takeout I’ve ever had, but don’t just take my word for it. Try it yourself and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
I’ll usually buy a large pork loin and double the marinade recipe. Then I freeze half of it for later and still have plenty for dinner that night.
You could also skip the kebabs, but my kids think that anything on a kebab is more fun and they end up trying something they might not otherwise want to.
- 2 lb pork loin, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1¼ cup olive oil
- 4 lemons, juiced
- 2 tsp garlic salt
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ¾ tsp Accent seasoning
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 Tbsp Greek Leaf Fresh Oregano
- Mix oils, lemon juice and seasonings. Place pork into Marinade and let marinate up to 2-3 days. Place on skewers and barbecue on grill. Can also add mushrooms, green peppers and onions to the skewers.
We like to serve this with fresh lemon wedges, Greek rice, and red potatoes. A yummy green salad is always a great option for the side as well.
