What You’ll Need for Obstacle Course Fun:
Free Printable Circle Tags (to put kids or family members into groups)
Free Printable Obstacle Timer Chart
Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals
Divide the players into groups. Begin by giving each member a colored circle tag by pinning the color on their shirt. Red, Yellow, Blue or Green.
Let the groups run through the obstacle course a few times and track their time on the chart. The best total times wins the game!
We began with the first player holding a baton. They had to hand the baton to the next player on the team when they finish the obstacle course line. We played as teams so 4 players had to complete the obstacle course and record their time.
We set up the obstacle course in this order and the kids loved it.
Station 1:
Obstacle course rings. The players hop through each circle hoop without touching the ground around the hoop.
Station 2:
Leap Frog Bags! Players had to get in a burlap sack and jump to the next station.
Station 3:
Players had to get all the sponge balls inside their hoop. They had to try again with the balls they missed until all 5 balls were inside the hoop. We had each player stand a few feet away from the hoop with this game.
Station 4:
Players put these bungie strips on their legs and had to hop to the next station! This was hilarious! You can also use these with 2 players in a 3 legged race.
Station 5:
Players had to complete 25 jumps with a jumping rope.
Station 6:
Players had to get all the bean bags inside their hoop. They had to try again with the bags they missed until all 5 bean bags were inside the hoop. We had each player stand a few feet away from the hoop with this game.
Station 7:
Players had to play the Egg Spoon Game. Carry one egg to the end of the finish line. If they egg was dropped, the players had to go back to the last station and try the egg balance game again.
We finished up the game with adding up each team’s time, and awarding medal necklaces to the players!
SO MUCH OUTDOOR FUN! We hope your family and friends can enjoy a summer obstacle course too!
